F. S. Ewing Married Emma Frances Woodall

Frederick and Emma were married on 3 Jan 1894. They lived in Montgomery County, Arkansas. Together they had 6 children: 5 daughters and 1 son. Their 3rd born child, Merphia Ewing, was my grandmother. Emma died in 1910, just 3 years after her last child was born. My grandmother would have been about 9 years old when she lost her mother.

A year later, 24 September 1911, Frederick Short Ewing married again. This time to Mary Loren "Mollie" Short McKinley. Mary's father's name was Frederick William Short II. I have never been able to discover if there was some sort of family connection between them, being that Frederick had "Short" as his middle name. Mary had previously been married to James David McKinley who passed away in 1908.  Mary had a third husband, David Abraham "Abe" Collum. They married in 1943 which was before F.S. died. However, I have never determined when they were divorced.
