Benona died at age 44 of Lymphosarcoma.

This picture was taken in Thalia Texas probably about 1946. They were visiting my grandmother, Ava Jones, Bennie's sister. Ava and J.C. Jones lived across the street from the Thalia schools.

Adult Children Visit the McNairs

Ava Ella McNair - School Days

MIMI ATTENDED SCHOOL IN THALIA, TEXAS

 Mimi attended the Old Wooden Thalia School.

Below: Thalia built and new school. Mimi and Pappy lived across the street from these schools.

This would be where Mother (Carolita Jones) and her siblings attended school.

Mimi eventually married Joe Carroll Jones. His brother, George, is pictured here with his school classmates.

My grandmother, Ava Ella McNair, was born in 1904. Her parents were Charles Franklin McNair and Ella Vermell (King). Ava was the oldest child of 5. 

Ella Vemell King was born in 1883 to William Lazarus King and Emily M (Hulsey) King. Ella married Frank McNair in 1903. William and Emily had 14 children, one of whom was Elizabeth Rhae King born in 1902. 

Ava and her aunt Rhae were school girls together. They are picture here on Armistice Day, 11 November 1919.
